From Good To Bad

I got my hair cut yesterday. It's not super short like last time, but kind of a bob-cut, but with the front longer than the back. I like it... however. My hair has a tendency to flip outward when it's short, which it is doing with a vengence, so now if I want my hair to look really nice I have to blowdry it and use the curling iron and hairspray. *facepalm* Oh well. Most days I don't care if it spikes up and flips out, and if I do want it to look nice it's short enough it shouldn't take too long to style. Photos later.

Phantom, my rabbit who hates everyone of the human persuasion, and has ever since I got her because she was massively undersocialized as a baby, likes my brother. Phantom likes my brother. WUT? I don't get it. Whenever anyone else (including me, and I've had her for five years and never done nothing but shower her with affection) picks her up or touches her, she panicks and hyperventilates, shakes and grunts and wheezes because she's so freaked out. Yesterday I got my brother to help me clip her nails and she was like :3 in his lap the entire time. ASDGH WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?! I JUST WANT HER TO LIKE ME! ;A;

Finally... my step-dad got a call a couple of days ago that one of his friends, Wally, had a heart attack. Aparently, he called 911, but when the paramedics got there, he was out of it. They had to put a breathing tube in, and when they did his heart stopped; it was stopped for fifteen minutes while the paramedics worked on him on the way to the hospital. They got his heart started up again, and he's in the ICU. As of yesterday they were waiting to see if he had brain damage... and today they did some scans, and he does have a lot of it from lack of oxygen when his heart was stopped. He hadn't woken up, and at this point if he doesn't improve by Monday they're planning to pull the plug.

It's really hard on Lee, since Wally is his close friend, and they've known each other most of their lives. They got together last weekend to play music together. Wally was even set to open a restaurant in two weeks, which is something he's been planning forever.

I'm worried about Lee, and so is Mom and my brother. I don't know how I really feel, it's weird because even I've known Wally for eighteen years. He's a really nice guy, and a good person, a good friend. He used to make me laugh when I was a kid. He doesn't deserve this... I hope he'll be okay, but realistically I know it's not likely. It's really sad...

Insomnia, And Writing Urges

I woke up around 6 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep so I got up. *shrug* But then as soon as I actually turned the lights on, Phantom decided she was restless and was going to start being a brat, chewing on the support doweling in the cage and chasing the other buns around. >>; So after attempting unsuccessfully to get her to stop, I finally just fished her out for some play time outside the cage.

I still can't let her out on the floor with the others or she picks on them, so I'll let them out later on today. Anyway, I guess she just needed to burn off some steam, because she's playing happily and being very well behaved now that she's out. She even hopped up into my lap and let me pet her (on the condition that I share my peach with her, of course.) She's still so standoffish when it comes to pets and cuddles that when she does decide to get up in my lap I really reward her, so that she'll associate interaction with people with nummy nummy treats. She got about half my peach by the end. Haha.

While she's been out playing I've been organizing a bit, and watched one of the movies I got from Columbia House this last week. Face, which is a Korean horror/supernatural movie. It was really good. There was a dub option, but I of course watched it in subtitles. I'm very fond of Asian horror/sci-fi/supernatural movies, and Korea does some of the best ones. The Host was Korean as well. ♥♥

Anyway, Face came in yesterday, along with Day Watch, which is originally in Russian (dubbing an option, again), and the sequel to Night Watch. Dad lent me Night Watch way back in May when I was down there for AN (and I still have it, hurr hurr, guess how often I actually get to see my Dad >>;) and I really liked it. When he watched it, he said it didn't make a lot of sense to him, but I think the problem was that he watched the dubbed version, and it might not have translated well. I watched the subbed version and had no problems with it. I still need to get my own copy of Night Watch, but I had the opportunity to get Day Watch for like $3.95 a couple weeks ago, so I grabbed it. xD;

Buy one at regular price, get unlimited DVDs at 75% off was an AWESOME sale, Columbia House. Do it again soon! >w<~

--> LOL I just put Phantom back into the rabbit cage and she's FLOPPED now. SUCCESS.

I feel the urge to write something original. I've been thinking about it the last couple days. And I really kind of want to get back into Angel Fire, but... it's on a floppy disc. =__=;; I completely forgot that while my old PC still took 3+1/2 floppies, my new one doesn't. I HAVE A WHOLE FUCKTON OF WRITING ON FLOPPY DISKS DAMMIT. DDDDD< Ugh. I wonder if Encode has a computer that can take floppies or something, maybe I can get them to transfer files for me...

But, since Angel Fire is out of the question, unless I want to write some drabbles or a one-shot type thing, and I believe so is The Hounds of Passing, I might work on something I've been tinkering with the last month or so. It's called Reaper Crossing, and is about a Reaper who decides he's sick of being death's emissary and basically quits and goes on the run. I have no names yet, but he, and the other Reaper assigned to hunt him down and bring him in are the two main characters. Later on there are two others as well who are basically bounty hunters, but they're still more sketchy as I haven't worked on them as much.

In RC, there is no distinct "God" or "Satan", there's just One Being who oversees everything, so Reapers, Hunters, Angels and etc. all work for the same person; this is because He is perfect, which doesn't mean that He is entirely Good, it means that He is exactly Balanced between Good and Evil. That's the reality, but humanity still has their varied outlooks and beliefs, including the basic Christianity stuff. *shrug* I'm still working on the afterlife and God things, but that's the basic principle behind it.

Hmm. I need names. I need good names for Reapers, and then a good alias for the main character to go by on Earth. *ponderponder* I also need to decide how I'm going to name the Hunters, since I'm OCD about names having meaning and reason behind them...

EDIT: Apparently Dad didn't lend me Night Watch, he gave it to me. :D YAY.

EDIT #2: So, it seems Sephiroth/Zexion is a common pairing out there. .__.;

Five Little Rabbits Went To Market

Ooookay... so there are still some hitches to work out with Phantom and the other buns. >>;

While she's perfectly happy to share the big cage with them and gets along fine while inside there, she still tears into them when they're all out on the floor together. I guess even though she's conceided that the cage is their territory, she still considers the rest of the place to be hers. >>;; Must work on that. Though I'm not entirely sure how. Maybe I'll post to the rabbit comm and ask... though I really am sick of having people over there tell me all the ways I'm raising my rabbits the wrong way. *sigh*

Right. After the fiasco with opening the cage and letting the girls out to play (and subsequently grabbing Phantom and tossing her back in so she'd stop tearing hair out of Pan, which is weird because inside the cage they're BFFs), I decided to finally sit down and clip all their nails.

I'll admit... I don't clip the buns' nails as often as I should sometimes. I procrastinate over it because it's usually a huge production and I end up all scratched up. But it really needed to be done.

And surprisingly, aside from a couple of small flailing incidents (from Phantom and Pagan, mostly) they seemed to just resign themselves to it and let me do it. THANK YOU. So now I only have a handful of little red scratch-marks... and rabbit hair ALL OVER ME. OMG THEY'RE ALL MOLTING AT THE SAME TIME.

Anyway, now they all have nice short nails again. Yey.

Unrelated Things

1) Back from Grandma's... my computer is still not ready. -__-; They said it'd be all good to go by Tuesday. Not impressed. Though I did call and they said I can pick it up tomorrow. Right now I'm using Mom's PC again.

2) A few days ago, before I went to Grandma's, I decided it was finally time to put Phantom in with my other girly bunnies in the big cage. I was still a little worried about it, since both she and Pauper are so territorial, and I thought if it didn't go well there might be a bunny bloodbath. But I've been working on Phantom for four years now and figured it was about time to give it a shot; so I let her out of her cage to play, then a while later I gave her some granola and picked her up, and just put her into the big cage instead of the one she's usually in.

She went "...." but didn't flip out as much as I thought she would. And surprisingly neither did Pauper. ^_^ It went SUPER well actually, and aside from some obligatory humping to establish dominance (Pauper came out on top, I think), there wasn't even any fighting. (Which could be in part because I loaded them down with as many treats as I possibly could as a distraction lol.) I kept an eye on them for a few hours just in case, and then relaxed and set about switching Pagan from his little cage to Phantom's old cage. ♥ Then I left for Grandma's tuesday and when I came back it was all still well. I'm pleased, and Phantom seems to be liking the big cage pretty well. And I'm hoping being social with the other buns will help Phantom be a bit happier too. :3

3) Went to get my train tickets! :D ...and when I got there they told me that three of them couldn't be ordered from them because I was leaving from a US city. BAH. But I still got my first ticket (from here to Baltimore) and the one from Toronto to here at the end of the trip. The other three I have to order from the online US Greyhound site. Psh. Doing that on Monday.

For now, Michelle, my bus officially arrives in Baltimore at the downtown bus hub at 12:45pm on the 6th. <3 If you can't pick me up for some reason I'll get the address for the hotel from Maddie and take a cab there or something. :)

4) Grandma's place and the trip to the naturopath... sucked ass. But I don't want to get into it right now or I'll start crying again. I'll type it up tomorrow or the next day once I've calmed down a bit.

5) Also, I have a ton of pics of Tetsuya that I'm going to post once I have my own PC back.

Playing Catch-Up

Man, another catch-up post. And I still have to deal with all my backlogged photoblogging photos too. >>; I'll do that later I guess. So!

1) Transformers is out on DVD now, and I don't have it yet. D: I ordered it through Columbia House, but I have to wait for it to get here. That's what I hate about CH, there's no "I'm buying this movie now and taking it home to watch immediately", you have to wait for it to get to you. Bah.

2) Grandma! ...is feeling much better the last few days. It makes me happy, because I was really worried about her, she was so depressed and was feeling sick and everything. She's taking her driver's test again tomorrow, so GANBATTE GRANDMA. I'm sure she'll do well now that she's feeling better. :3

3) Tetsuya's temp. wig, his new eyes (metallic red and black), and one pair of his shoes and one outfit have come in. Haha, his wig came in yesterday and I picked it up today at the same time as I was mailing his head away for his face-up. D'oh! xD; So I can't even try it on him until he gets back, haha.

On a related note, I mailed him airmail so he should get to [info]aiko_yamada in a few days. I'm really pissed and worried though, because I asked for $200 worth of insurance on the package, and they can't give you insurance unless you mail express, which was like $50. I can't afford that. That's $100 for shipping both ways, never mind the insurance on top of that, so I had to just mail him airmail and hope for the best. Aiko, can you mail airmail down there and get insurance when you're sending him back? I'll send you extra money for it if you can.

4) When I bought Tetsuya's new eyes, I got him red and black because he needs both depending on his mood. Shut up I know he's a doll. >>; While I was at it, I also randomly bought a pair of metallic cobalt eyes just because they were so pretty. I have no use for them, but I still <3 them. I'm an idiot! XD

I also really like the animated eyes Volks have. More this type than the other two.

5) I bought sake today! :D Why? Because I randomly decided I'm going to make oden, and I need some for the broth. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to buy it though, because I have no photo ID and I look younger than I am, so I made my step-dad come in with me... and then no one questioned it. Yay? XDD;

6) Man, Rizu has been... it's just been Rizu. XD; Things are going so well, and we have tons of characters and it's lots of fun. Also lots of random pairings. Rufus/Demyx FTW last night. xDD;; It was actually pretty hot. >>;

Hmm, so far I've got Hikaru, Demyx and Kyo; Hika is all wrapped up in Kao as usual, but that's not a surprise. Right now they're going as commoner schoolgirls to a Halloween party. ^^; Then Demy is at the same party, along with Zexion, and he's dressed as Aquaman but Zexy doesn't have a costume, the spoilsport. The two of them are also sharing a bed at night right now because Zexy has no furniture yet. .__.; Demy's all embarrassed because it turns out he's a snuggler in his sleep. XD; And Kyo... is making enemies easily, of course. He works as a waiter (just because I thought it was hilarious), and just argues with Ludwig whenever they encounter each other. AND PWNZ HIM TOO, I MIGHT ADD [info]firebird_88 BWAHAHA. >D

7) Most of my catch-up photoblogging photos will be of Tetsuya I think. I have to go through the ones I've taken, but I'm pretty sure I've been snapping pics of him a lot lately. Is anyone surprised? >>;

8) Man... I have to pack up some of my ponies. They're everywhere, taking up space on all my shelves and stuff, which I don't mind so much... except I have nowhere to put new ponies when I make them! ^.^;; So I guess I'll pack up the ones I've got finished for AN and store them away until the con next May. That way I can fill my shelves again. Also, turns out Kanda-mun comes to AN every year and we saw each other this past con~ X3 It's a small world after all~ *music note*

9) Phantom has been really affectionate lately. O.o I mean, affectionate for her; compared to Pagan she's still not super cuddly. But earlier tonight she was out to play and I got her some cheerios (she <3s cheerios, especially the ones with dried berries in them) for a treat, and instead of waiting until I could set them on the ground for her, she actually hopped up into my lap and ate them from my hand! It's the first time she's ever come up into my lap on her own! =3 So I fed her like half a box of friggin cereal because I was so happy. XD;

10) ...I think that's about it. .__.; *goes to upload some Demyx icons*

Feral Box

It's funny how you can buy fancy toys, and buns/cats/children/etc. are always more happy playing with things like paper and boxes.

Along with toilet paper/paper towel tubes, one of the favourite toys for my buns are kleenex boxes, so when one's empty I take the plastic out and give it to them to toss around. Tonight I gave one to Phantom... and she got her head stuck in it. D'oh! XD; lol.

So I had to go over and rescue her from the big bad kleenex box. Not that it stopped her from throwing it around as soon as I gave it back to her, of course. :)

Box head. )

Scrounging For Monies

gnaugiklnmgifljhghd;kl

At some point last night, every one of the rabbits started molting. EVERY ONE OF THEM. Including Phoenix, who molted all summer! I thought she was done! Why now of all times? Why not in June like normal animals? xD;;

Phantom's litter training began (again) today after I cleaned out her cage. I didn't refill the bedding, I left the floor empty, so the only place with bedding (Yesterday's News) is in the litter box. Then I have her a towel to play with/lie on.

This is how I litter trained Pagan a while back, and it worked really well. I'm hoping I can make some headway with her. She's so stubborn. lol.

Right now I'm going through my things trying to find stuff to sell so that I can buy my dollfies. Two of them anyway. There are like ten that I want. >>;

I'm selling my Gundam figures, which hurts me deeply, but at the same time I have nowhere to display them; right now they're just gathering dust and taking up a lot of storage space. I should have taken a pic of my Gundam Wall Of DHOOM when it was up at Mom's place before I moved out.

I think I'm going to sell some of my Sailor Moon collection, too... maybe. I've been collecting for ten years, I don't know if I'll be able to part with any of it. Eheh. XD;

Photoblogging, Day 66 )

Harlequin

Haha, so I've had Phantom for just over two years now... time flies! It's funny how much bunnies have integrated themselves into my life since I first saw her and absolutely had to have her. Now I have five! ♥

Anyway, Phantom has always been a little bit... strange. The thing with animals of any kind is that they're all different, just like people, and just because Pagan is a total Momma's Boy and loves to snuggle up under my chin doesn't automatically mean that Phantom does too.

Phantom was a pet store rabbit, but also sort of a rescue:

When I got her she was 7 to 8 months old and had been in the store for a long time... so long that they had brought in new baby bunnies to sell, and moved her out on her own to a little cage with a mesh bottom. She was just huddled in the middle of it, and while she didn't look sickly or anything, it was still obvious she needed out of there; she was completely cut off from the others and generally looking miserable and lonely. Poor girl. (I didn't understand it either, she's a Harlequin coloured Rex-- she's gorgeous! How could no one want her?)

I had a spare rabbit cage at home at the time, so I bought her (for a discount, too, they were so happy to be rid of her) and brought her home.

But she's always been a little off, and honestly I think the beginning in the pet store is why; she was old enough when I got her that she wasn't used to being handled, and wasn't used to eating anything but pellets (she got over that really fast, lol!) and didn't know how to interact with anything, be it people or other animals.

She's still got problems and trust issues to this day, and I doubt she'll ever be like my other girls or Pagan; basically, you have to just let her do her thing. Feed her, clean her cage out, let her out to play, and while she loves to play with the cats, she still wants nothing to do with other rabbits or people. That's fine. As long as you leave her to her own devices, she's perfectly happy-- in fact, she's the one out of all my buns that does the most running-binkies!

Anyway, recently, she seems to be going through a radical personality change. Suddenly, after two years of patience, moving slowly, dealing with her grunting and running and not wanting me to touch her, she's suddenly decided that I'm okay! =O

It makes me so happy! She still doesn't cuddle tons, but she'll come up to me and nose at my leg, and occasionally ask for nose scritches, and she lets me pick her up without freaking out-- she'll even sit with me for half an hour and give me a few little kisses before she decides she's had enough and heads off to play.

I feel really accomplished, and really happy for her... and also for me, of course. I'm just glad she knows I'm good people now. :)

Anyway! I thought I'd share. Now random photos!

My baby girl~ )

Heh, lately she's also gotten into a bad habit of nicking things off of the coffee table to play with; she especially likes the coasters and pencils if she can reach them. But tonight I ordered pizza and the box was sitting there half-full and closed, and the next thing I know she pops her head up from the other side of the table, grabs it, and runs like hell! XD;

Now the pizza is on the counter. lol.

Always, Again...

Right... today has been tiring. -.-;

We went to do groceries, but I haven't had money to buy anything the last three weeks, so I had about five gagillion stops to make. At least my tax money came in, so I could pick up some stuff that I haven't been able to, like spaghetti sauce and things like that.

My big splurge with my tax money was another rabbit harness/leash at the pet place for like $9, so now I have three; I can take Pagan, Phoenix and Pan out at the same time. Phantom refuses to wear one (she absolutely freaks out if I try putting one on her, and doesn't get along with the others anyway), so she can't go for walks, but the others like it. I also tried putting one on Pagan, and he just looked at me like "...what are you doing?" and then went about his business, so he'll probably be fine with it as well. :)

I might try taking Pauper and Phoenix out for the first time this spring tomorrow, if it's warm enough. <3

Anyway...

So I've been really down lately... even more so than usual. And I've had a couple of people asking about it, so maybe... I should just explain so that everyone understands, and hopefully doesn't worry so much.

I've always... )

D'oh

Man, I did the stupidest thing today. -__-;

I deposited $40 into the bank, since I'm in the red again this month and needed to bring my balance above the negatives... but I only imputted $20, so that's all that was credited to my account.

DAMMIT SENA~! ><;;

So tomorrow I have to call the bank and explain things to them and see what I can do.

In a completely unrelated topic, I'm letting Pagan and Pan have run of the apartment for the first time right now; Pan is hopping herself around like no tomorrow (and spending a lot of time by Phantom's pen, so Phantom's freaking out), but Pagan has yet to leave the safety of their cage. Poor little guy. I think he's scared of the cats.

Which is stupid, since they're all afraid of the rabbits. >>;;

Expanding Household

Panyin & Pagan~

I went back into the pet store for critter bedding, and the bunnies were still there... including the one who licked the glass when I was wiggling my finger at her. >.< And because I'm weak as hell, my household has grown by two more residents. >>;

Panyin is the grey girl (the lick-y one, lol), and she's a mini-rex, just like Phantom, so she's super soft. She'll be called Pan for short. I was considering calling her Pippin at first. XD;

Pagan is the black and white boy (yes, I said boy), and he's a mini-lop. His ears haven't fallen yet, but the breeder assured the store that they would; even if they don't, I still think he's cute and squishy. ^_^

They're both very friendly and lovey, and Phantom already likes them. Phoenix is curious, and Pauper is kind of wary. But none of them are upset by Pan and Pagan's presence, so things are already looking good. <3

Pagan needs to be neutered in a couple of months, obviously, since he's the only boy I have, but it should fall approximately when I'm selling ponies at AN, so it'll all work out. :)

I'll be posting more photos later, I'm sure. But right now they're settling in (their cage is next to the big one that Phoenix and Pauper are in), and I don't want to bother them just yet.

Fecking Fleas Again!

I had a doctor's appointment this morning (yay); it was just for prescription repeats when I made it, but I ended up getting a flu shot and the doctor took a look at my hand while she was at it. Now my arm aches. But my hand is feeling much better now that the antibiotics have started working. :)

It's still all bruised and the joint is swollen a bit still, but it's on it's way~

And today I picked Loki back up from the vet's after his neuter/declaw. He's a little grumpy, but fine otherwise... EXCEPT.

While they were doing the pre-op exam, they found three whole fleas on him. No eggs, no flea dirt, just three adult fleas. So they treated him for them. SOUND FAMILIAR? And I had a nice long chat with the vet about it, where she insisted that the chances of him picking up fleas from their office twice were very slim.

So I went out and bought a flea comb to check the rest of my animals.

Neko is FLEA FREE. Tri is FLEA FREE. Pauper is FLEA FREE. Phoenix is FLEA FREE. Phantom is FLEA FREE. The rats are FLEA FREE.

Loki is also flea free now, as are Sarah's cats.

The vet is trying to tell me that the fleas must have come from here, and must have come into the house back in May when I first got Loki. And he's the only one with them, after that many months? PLEASE.

THOSE FLEAS CAME FROM YOUR OFFICE. AND I DON'T APPRECIATE BEING CHARGED FOR A FLEA TREATMENT WHEN THAT'S THE CASE.

Wabbits, Kitties

My carpet is now littered with six sets of animal nail clippings. *vacuums*

And I'm covered in rabbit scratches, because the cats are good when I clip their nails but the buns hate it; they all flail like crazy when I do it. Though Phantom's getting better about it, so mostly it was Phoenix and Pauper who scratched me all to hell. Ahhh well, I knew it'd happen when I got the clippers out. ^_^;

Though actually... I've been told there's a specific way of holding a rabbit on it's back that puts it into a kind of trance? I've managed it once with Phoenix (by accident when she was little and I was worried that she might be a boy instead of a girl, lol), but haven't managed it again-- until tonight.

I had Pauper tucked under my arm against my side to clip her front claws, but she wasn't cooperating at all for her hind ones, so I flipped her over and just happened to get her into the right position. She calmed right now and got really still, and I petted her a bit and then snipped her back nails really fast. I need to practice that. It was handy.

Then I rubbed her belly for a bit until she decided it was time to sit up and lick my chin.

I love my rabbits. <3

As for the cats~ Loki is going in on Monday to be neutered and have a front declaw done. He's just past eight months old now, so it's getting to be time. Plus, he's started getting a bit more aggressive with the other cats. >>;

So in to the vet he goes~

Tricks Are For Kids

Dammit, Phantom, stop bloody rattling the bars of your pen! I get the idea, you want out to play, but it's late and you were already out for like three hours earlier today! RRGH RABBIT! SO ANNOYING!

Other than that~

I put my Christmas tree up yesterday, yay! <3 I got a new tree this year, just a small 3 foot tall one that sits on my table. I have a full-sized 6 foot one, but I don't really have enough room for it, so the half-sized one is a good solution. Besides, it only cost me $10. XD

So I set it up last night, and it's really pretty and cute. And because it's not actually sitting on the floor, the cats won't climb it like they tried to last year I hope. >>;;

Now I need to wrap Christmas gifts, and finish my shopping. Yep.

Critter Ramblings

So Mom and Lee have these two baby gates (you know, the things that you put into doorways) from a year-and-a-bit ago when they first got Possum-- he wasn't 100% housetrained yet, so when they went to work in the morning, they put the gates up and left him in the kitchen (which has tiles) for the day, to avoid huge messes on the carpets.

They haven't used them in a long time, but last night I dug them out from the basement and put them up so that I could bring Phoenix and Pauper downstairs and let them run around for a bit.

For about two hours last night, the girlies were puttering around the kitchen; I had put the cats in the room upstairs while they were out, because Loki likes to play with the buns. This is normally fine, but with Phoenix still sporting sutures, I don't want to take any chances-- Loki tends to get rather exhuberant with his playing sometimes, and I didn't want him to hurt her by accident. :)

But Possum was out, and spent the whole time meandering around the other side of the gates going O_o; at the bunnies on the other side, lol. After a while I brought Pauper out and crouched down so he could have a sniff at her... and he decided that rabbits are scary not-dogs, the same as the cats, and that he'd rather look at them through the gates, thank you very much! >^-^;; Such a wussy puppy...

In general, though, Phoenix seems pretty good. She's eating/drinking/pooping/peeing fine now (yay no G.I. Statis!), and her limp seems to be going away, which just confirms in my mind the idea that she was just limping because her belly hurt.

I think she's going to be fine. ^_~

I'm still hesitant to put her back in with Pauper just yet, though, for fear that Pauper might pick on her or something and open up the stitches...

Anyway, having taken care of Phoenix (who was so pushy she got bumped up two spaces on the Pets Who Are Due To Be Spayed/Neutered List), the next one who'll be up to bat is Loki, who needs to go in for shots some time soon, and then be neutered in a month or two, before he starts spraying.

After that is Phantom, finally, even though she was supposed to be first, originally... ^_^;

Also, I'm depressed, and that always makes me sleepy. MORE sleepy. And coming from someone with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, that's saying a lot. =.=;

Accomplishment

Well, last night I did dishes and stuffed some of my many stray pillows, blankets, and stuffed animals into garbage bags. Then I was up all night (yay insomnia!) and got to sleep around 7 or so... then got back up around 10, and set about cleaning critter homes, transferring bunnies around into different cages, and then moving everyone downstairs to the back room, with the exception of the cats, and Phoenix and Pauper.

Then I cleaned up the apartment; all the usual cleaning, plus in the places that I can't normally get to because of cages and terrariums being in the way. I also covered the big rabbit cage with some sheets, since I can't actually move it without taking it apart-- Phoenix and Pauper are now in the cage that Phantom usually inhabits, and Phantom went back into her old cage, just for the time being.

This is all in preparation for tomorrow, when I'll be spraying Raid all over the damn place in an attempt to lessen the number of freaking insects that are crawling around right now. :P

There's still some small things I have to do before I can actually spray, like pack up any foodstuffs, and seal off the cabinet with my dishes, and cover the couch/chairs, but that's going to wait. The food and dishes I might do tonight, but the couch/chairs shall happen tomorrow, so that I can still use them until then...

Tomorrow morning, Mom and I have an appointment with the Chiropractor, then when we get back into town we have some errands to run, since tomorrow is the last day before she and Lee head off on their vacation out west. After that, we're coming back here and loading all my stuff-- and the cats' stuff, and the rabbits' stuff, and the cats, and the rabbits-- into the van, and I'm going over to her place to stay for about a week and a half. ^^

I'm looking after Possum (which I've mentioned before, I'm sure several times) while they're gone, and I don't mind staying there. Neko, Tri and Loki are coming with me, as was always the plan... Phoenix and Pauper got added to the list of "coming with" a couple of days ago, because Phoenix is going in to be spayed on Wednesday, and I want to be able to keep an eye on her afterward. And because she and Pauper are bonded (and practically attached at the hip, I might add), I didn't want to sepparate them for that much time...

Have I talked about Phoenix and the spaying?

I planned to have all my buns spayed as soon as I could, starting with Phantom, since she's the oldest of them, and was saving up the money to get her done, with general plans to have Phoenix and Pauper spayed probably some time around December or so.

BUT.

Phoenix started having phantom pregnancies-- I know I mentioned that before, since [info]lipstickcat commented about her Ghost having phantom pregnancies, too. I wasn't too worried about it, since I planned to have her spayed anyway, and figured it wouldn't hurt her to wait for a couple of months. A fake pregnancy or two wouldn't be a big deal...

...until a few days ago, when I looked into the cage, and realized that, while nesting for nonexistent babies, Phoenix had ripped so much hair out of her hindquarters that she's now got two rather large bald spots, one on either hip. -_-;; Sigh. Having some bald spots won't kill her, but it's obvious she's not going to be able to wait until the fall/winter. (Also, she was building her nest in the litterbox, so both of them had started peeing in the back corners of the cage instead...)

Anyway, yeah. I talked to Mom, and she agreed to spot me the rest of the money to get her spayed now (since I don't have quite enough saved up yet). I called on Friday and made an appointment for this Wednesday coming up. Phantom was supposed to be first, but I guess these things happen. *shrug*

In any case, the only thing I'm sort of fretting about with going to Mom's is that their Internet connection is wonky sometimes. About half the time you try to use it, it won't connect, even though there's nothing wrong with the modem, and it says their LAN is working fine.

I need Internet... ;-; *wibbles* lol.

Mom's supposed to call Rogers and talk to them about it, but keeps making excuses "because she gets off work so late, when is she supposed to call??", even though the Rogers tech line is open 24/7. I called at 5 in the morning once, and got them to help me out. Mom just doesn't like calling about stuff like that. :P

So I'm bringing an actual journal (yes, I have one, even though it hasn't been used in YEARS), just in case, and I guess if I have too many problems, I'll just call and deal with the problem myself or something...

Rabbit-y Success!

I'm almost done the new rabbit cage! ^_^ I just have two shelves and half the roof to finish (but I'm out of zip ties), but it's done enough that I moved Phoenix and Pauper in anyway. ^^ They really like it... but the first thing Phoenix did was dig in the litter box and throw the clean litter all over the place... >^-^;; Oh well...

Eventually, I plan to move Phantom in with them, but because she's so territory-conscious, I'm going to leave the other two in the big cage for a while before I put Phantom in, too. ^^; To help avoid big fights and stuff...

Ack! Picture! X3

EDIT: Aren't those mats ugly? They were the only grass mats I could find that were affordable and didn't have snowmen on them. WTF, snowmen? It's almost July! XD

Complex

I haven't slept a wink tonight, and my apartment is now in complete and utter disarray. =.=;;

Because I couldn't sleep, I decided to keep myself busy (instead of just laying around staring at the ceiling), and put together as much of the new bunny cage as I could, given that I don't have enough NIC squares for the whole thing, chloroplast for the bottom, grass mats for the floor/shelves, litter boxes to go in it, another water bottle, or a hay dealie. Yep. So it's half done now.

But then I was like "well now what am I going to do? I have this huge half-finished cage, and nowhere to put it!", since I hadn't rearranged yet.

Thusly, I rearranged.

One of my dresser's got moved out of the way, and the other got moved over to make room for the cage (which is going along that wall, next to the window). This, of course, involved unplugging several appliances (lamp/clock/air filter/radio/etc), and plugging them back in once the dresser was situated again. Both of them are now empty as well, and all my clothes are piled unceremoniously on my round coffee table, awaiting sorting and putting away.

The smaller dresser that was moved away from the wall completely was then wheeled over to the far cubby hole, which is actually fits in nicely. There's storage behind it, and it's still accessable, so I can still use it for storage as well. Plus, it hides all the clutter and boxes. But of course, I forgot to pack my boxes away back there before I put the dresser in... so it came out again, then the cubby hole got packed with stuff before it returned to it's new home.

Yuki, 'Nashi and Kori, whose cage used to be where the little dresser is now, had been moved out of the way, and are currently sitting on their table, pending further movement. They'll eventually be going where Phoenix and Pauper's cage is now, once the girls get moved into the new one. ^_^;

Phantom, meanwhile, is staying where she is for the time being. And she was not happy with all the movement around her, by the way; she kept making loud thumping noises the whole time I was shuffling stuff around. lol. Phantom just doesn't deal well with change. She's very set in her ways. ^_~

So, later today (or tomorrow, since I'm starting to get tired now), I have some spare cages to move down into storage in the garage, and I need to reorganize the other cubby hole to fit in some of the plastic bins of my collection (the rest is already in the cubby behind the dresser). Then I have to put away all my clothes again, and decide if I want to keep all the videos/books that were stored in the big dresser until I emptied everything out up here, or if I want to send them down to the garage for storage, too.

Hmm...

And of course, I have a couple of boxes of odds and ends that are supposed to go on the shelves above the one dresser/new cage if and/or when I ever manage to get around to putting them up again.

Oh, and a couple of days ago I found some laundry cupboards at Walmart; they're two feet tall, so they'll fit along my short walls, and were on clearance, so I put a set on layaway, and I need to pick them up in a week or so. When I get them here and put together, I need to reorganize again to find somewhere to put them. XD

Do I know how to make things complicated, or what?

Rabbits, Cats, Ponies

So yeah, Dad thought that Yoda!pony was hilarious, and I pretty much do too. Now I want to do more Star Wars ponies. I already have plans to do a Darth Maul one eventually, but I don't know when I'll get around to doing it... >^-^;;

Aaah, we're having a huge rainstorm right now, which would be good, except that it isn't doing anything to help alleviate the heat, and is, in fact, just making it a lot more humid. :P Eeegh... oh well... not much anyone can do about that. If it continues to rain like hell for the rest of the night, maybe the heat will break, though.

Right now Phoenix and Pauper are out playing, and Loki is sleeping in his crate, since that's what he does after I feed him every morning and night. Usually I try to time it so that the buns are out playing then, so that he doesn't bother them too much. lol.

Phantom isn't out right now, though... I haven't been able to let her out to play with the others lately. She gets along fine with all the cats, and gets along fine with Pauper, but lately has decided that maybe she doesn't love Phoenix as much as she thought she did after all; when they're out together, they get into big fights that end up with countless tufts of bunny hair ripped out and flung all over the floor. I think it's because Phantom thinks she's the boss, and Phoenix doesn't like to take orders from anyone. A pecking-order type thing.

Still, I guess this means that I really do have to get Phantom spayed... which really, I already knew. This is just another poke about it.

Le sigh.

Rabbit Wars

Jeez. I let the rabbits out to play, and went downstairs to get something to eat... and when I came back upstairs, like two minutes later, Phantom and Phoenix were chasing each other around in circles, tearing big chunks of hair out of their respective hindquarters. I was like O_o;;

So I grabbed Phantom, checked to make sure she'd only lost hair, and dumped her back into her pen, then went to check and make sure Phoenix was okay. To be honest, I was more concerned about Phoenix, because of the huge size difference. Phantom could have hurt her easily. Anyway, she's fine.

I don't know what bought it on, though. They've never done anything like that before... Phoenix was probably just being a bug as usual, and Phantom wasn't in the mood. ^_^;; Bad bunnies! Bad! lol.

Ah, and speaking of Phoenix... I'm taking her to the vet later this week. She's still having random sneezing fits, and today her nose is running kind of goopy, instead of just clear. She doesn't seem to be feeling bad, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I'd rather take her in now, instead of waiting and having her cold (or whatever) end up in her chest and with her getting really sick, or passing it on to one of the others...

Right.

Now I have to go chase the little buns away from eating my broom. ^_^;; They like to eat my broom.
