Disappointing Appointments
Yesterday Mom and I went to Toronto for my appointment with the gastroenterologist. Basically, it took an hour and a half to drive there, almost two hours of waiting in the waiting room for the appointment (the doctor was running stupidly late), and then when I finally got in, the phone rang TWICE in the middle of the consult, which he picked up, and then talked about finances for twenty minutes each time while I sat there with nothing to do.

Then he told me I'm fat because I don't eat properly and don't excersize, which I'm used to hearing from doctors by now. It's very frustrating because it's not fucking true, but that he would do the surgery anyway. Then he told me I had to make appointments with three other specialists before he could even do the real consult with me. WHAT? You couldn't have told me that over the phone so I could do that BEFORE driving way the hell down there? FFS. Then after the next consult with him, it's 4-6 months until the surgery. *sigh* What a pain.

Anyway, to make up for that craptacular experience, Mom and I went to the World's Biggest Bookstore while we were there (turns out it's half a block from the Greyhound station and I never even realised *facepalm*), where Mom got me volumes 7-10 of After School Nightmare, 1-2 of Cherry Juice and Absolute Boyfriend (which I subsequently downloaded scanlations of the rest because it was so good, I'm so buying the rest of the set!), the first volume of Tsubasa (Those With Wings) and 6 of Vampire Knight. Also, a book on handwriting analysis, a nightmare encyclopedia, a book about cults, a book about the knights templar, a Sylvia Browne book on psychic children, Deluge by Anne McCaffrey and Elizabeth Ann Scarborough (FINALLY) and Crime Spells, which is a short story collection about magical crimes. >w<~

Right!

There hasn't been any new news on Wally since Sunday. Originally, they had said that if he didn't show any improvement over the weekend, they would pull the plug on Monday. Saturday night, he started trying to breathe on his own again, though, and Sunday he started moving a little and his eyes were open off-and-on (though they're unsure if he was actually seeing or not). He's still got to be on life support, and obviously hasn't been talking, but since they're seeing improvement, now they're waiting longer to see how he does in a more long-term setting. We're all still really hopeful that he'll pull out of it...

And finally, tonight's Grey's Anatomy? = DDDDDDDDDDDD8 NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU. I literally gasped out loud and sat up with my hands over my mouth when Merideth figured out who John Doe was... ;___; And Izzy...

EDIT: Also, HOLY SHIT STAR TREK WAS AN AWESOME MOVIE. O___O!!

EDIT #2: A couple days ago, the people who were supposed to be custom-making the boots I was going to be using for Org13!Dem and Lavi cosplay emailed me and backed out. WTF. SO ANNOYING, especially so close to Anime North. They refunded the money, and I was panicking about not having the boots, but Mel says she can make me some bootcover-things, so it should be okay. Then I can try to find the actual boots later on. Yay~

EDIT #3: *facepalm* God, lookit the edits today. Anyway, my passport came in and I picked it up yesterday. AWESOME. Now assuming I can afford it, I can get into the US for Otakon. :D

ASN is amazing, the ending is so sad and surprising! Lemme know what you think when you finish!

I got the first six volumes of ASN at the used bookstore, so I got the rest yesterday. And then read them all last night. >.>

It was a surprising ending! The whole series was really uniquely done and I loved it. Usually I can see where plots are going, but ASN was completely unpredictable. ^^ When things started coming together in the last volume, everything just kind of started falling into place and making sense though...

Ahh! I'm so glad I picked up the series~

I was so sad she had to go and right after she found out her feelings for Sou ;_; I wanted them to like... make it together when I knew the ending, but IT WAS SO SAD.

I kinda realized that all the students were for the mom's in that room! I was so sad ;_; But I love how everyone pulled together to save her ;_;

I'd totally buy t second hand if I could (since I've read it, I don't wanna go waste the money on new ones... I just borrowed them~)

I did start Togainu no Chi, which was different fom my normal genre. I like it :) I also want to start Higurashi, before they have tons of volumes released... and in August... I'll start Dogs, but dkjsghdfjkh god D: so many. At least I finished m collection for Loveless and Dragon knights. I also started Spiral, which I am so in love with <333

Yeah I was really rooting for her and Sou too. But yes, it was a really good series. I'm so glad I picked it up, and will likely never part with it now. ♥

The used bookstore at the corner started selling manga a couple of months back, which is good and bad because now I'm always going in there and bookstores are my downfall lol, but then they only had 1-6 so I had to get the other four new. *shrug*

I'm not familiar with Togainu no Chi or Dogs, but I've got uh... 1-8 of Loveless? I don't have any of Dragon Knights but I've heard it's good. Same with Spiral. The Spiral art is GORGEOUS too. :3

You can read Spiral and Dogs on ONemanga, but Ahh I ave 1-8 of Loveless, too :3

Sometimes if I'm missing them I just go on ebay, sometimes it is cheaper, sometimes not.

Ugh, if he's being paid to see you for an appointment, can't he ignore the phone and return his calls after the appointment is over? It's simple courtesy, even. -_-

I'll need your measurements for the boot covers, but I think I might have time. I'm putting off Nehelenia and Luna until Otakon, so I only have Kanda to finish. I'll let you know Sunday if I definitely have time. ^_^

I know, exactly. I mean, if he'd gotten a call that one of his patients was in an emergency or something, I'd understand, but all he talked about was finances and charting things. -.-;;

Oki~ I'll do the measurements tomorrow. I really hope you have time~! >w<~

An appointment is time set aside for you, so he shouldn't be discussing other things with other people during that time. I've had it happen during appointments before too, and it's annoying, but I find I just can't say anything about it. Maybe I should.

I think I will. Emphasis on the think part. XD Kanda is coming along fairly well, so I hope to have it done by the end of the weekend. I did take an extra vacation day on wednesday as well, because I've learned from previous years that I am always working on cosplay up to the time I leave. XD As soon as I get the measurements, I'll go and pick up the zippers. ^__^

Yeah, I have that problem too. I'm too tolerant of people. >>;

ankle to knee 35cm
ankle circ 28cm
upper calf circ 46cm
widest calf circ 48cm
ankle-sole-ankle 15cm

Also, they'll need to flare out a bit at the end and go about an inch and a half past the ankle-to-knee to cover the top of the shoes I'll be wearing. Um, does that make sense? ._.;
