MLP Custom: Irvine Kinneas [02 Apr 2008|03:12am] [ mood | accomplished ] Look at me finally getting around to posting some pics of one of my Customs again. =D;; I fail at that lately. Heh. Eventually I'll get around to posting pics of all the ones I've done the last couple of months. >>; Anyway! The reason I did this one is because... one of the 2008 ponies (Scootaloo I think) comes with a cowboy hat. XD; And I'm a geek. So I give you Irvine Kinneas from FF8. He was fun to do, even if I had a bitch of a time finding pics of him. >.< In the end I had to go begging, and Mel was nice enough to supply some. <33 I think my favourite part of Irvine is his hat; I spent almost as much time modding it as I did painting the rest of him. XD; But it turned out SWEET, so I'm happy. ( Irvine pics~ ) So I used a sponge brush and dabbed the white for the furry kinna look on his collar/cuffs. I hope the colours are okay, but they might be a tad off since every pic I printed seemed to show different shades. D'oh! His hat is removable, but I probably won't take it off any time soon as it would mess his hair up... a lot. >>; Also, I still need to do his necklace, but none of the pics I have show it very well. Does anyone out there happen to have a better pic of it that I can have? I would love you forever! :3 EDIT: I luffs him, and really would love to keep him, but unfortunately... I needs monies. MLP Custom: Sakura [05 Feb 2008|02:03am] [ mood | accomplished ] Lots of photos in this post and not much else! First, the pony I finished tonight. I named her "Sakura", which is seriously un-creative, but it was the only thing I could think of since I was thinking of sakura trees when I painted her, colour-wise. She's one of four kimono-based ponies that I'm doing for selling at AN; basically, the legs are painted with a pattern, and then I give them the kimono bow, which is a pain in the ass to make but comes out looking very pretty. The first time I did one was with Ritsu last year. Anyway, Sakura's colour pallette is red-brown, red, pink and white. Her legs are painted with falling sakura petals, and she has one under each eye as well. Personally, I'm very proud of her eyes, and as a random fact, I sealed her horn with clear sparkle sealant like they do with the actual MLP unicorns. She was made from a G3 Rarity. <3 ( Sakura ) The other three kimono ponies are in black/white, yellow and green I think, but are clearly not done or I'd have pics of them to post too. lol. So, moving on! I have a bunch of snow!pics from Grandma's last week, as well as some winter pics of Tetsuya from when I was there too. ^^ Actually, the amount of snow at Grandma's isn't nearly as bad this year as most; about half as much as is typical for this time of year. Haha. This is a good year? ( Snow~ ) Now! On the second day I was at Grandma's, Tetsuya decided he wanted to go outside and play in the snow. Silly boy. But even though he had a hat and scarf, he didn't have mitts, so Grandma made him a pair out of felt. <3 Hee. He had fun! But then when he came in, he had to strip down so he didn't get really wet from melting snow on his clothes. And I didn't have any other clothes for him with me, so he snuggled into a blanket on the couch and watched TV while they dried on heating vents. ^_^ ( Onward to the frolicking! ) 8 hearts | pray to be unbroken

MLP Customs: Riku, Riku &... Riku! [01 Oct 2007|02:21am] [ mood | accomplished ] Finally finished the trio of Rikus that were commissioned like two months ago! =D; ( The Riku Herd ) So, KH1 Riku was fun to do, though I had some issues with his painting... especially because I had trouble finding pics of the back of his shirt. >>; And his hair was a pain and didn't turn out quite how I wanted, but all in all I like him. KH2 Riku was... somewhat boring, painting-wise at least, because I'd already done him before. I found myself procrastinating over him just because I wanted to work at something different. xD; D'oh. But when I was doing his hair I made a point of going at it differently than I did with the first one and fixing the stuff I disliked about it. His hair turned out perfectly (though before I painted him he looked kinna like Marluxia because the super sculpey was pink. XDD;;) Blindfold!Riku... was a bitch. >/ I mean, he was easy up until I was doing his hair, and then I was all ghauygihbfdauglah;kl I HATE YOU! But that was mostly because I had to do it around his ribbon blindfold; same with when I painted it. Painting around the ribbon was a pain in the ass. Oh well. I like him anyway~ On a side note, last time I just painted his hair silver, and wasn't super happy with it. This time I mixed colours especially for him, and now I have two bottles of "Riku Hair" paint for future use. lol. DUO AND UTENA ARE NEXT~ >3 EDIT: HAHA! Okay, so back when I did my set of KH ponies for AN, I was new to the KH fandom and did the outfits/hair/colours/etc. based on pics (I do that with any characters I don't know totally inside-out and backwards), and my printer tends to print colours a bit off of what they actually are. Usually it's no big deal. So when I was doing these ponies, I painted the skin colours and eyes, and then I was looking for pics of KH1!Riku... and was suddenly like WTF WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME RIKU'S EYES ARE GREEN?? ><;; lol. My first Riku from May has blue eyes, as my printer made his eyes blue when I printed the pic back then. So off I went and re-painted all three new Riku's eyes green. xD;; 10 hearts | pray to be unbroken

MLP Custom: Glitterapple [25 Aug 2007|01:13am] [ mood | accomplished ] Finished Glitterapple! She was random, haha, I just wanted to use the curly hair I got a while back. Anyway, I think she's really pretty. She's a diva! ^.~ Glitterapple is what I'm calling her right now, but I might change it if I think of something better. ( Glitterapple ) Originally, when I did her symbols, I liked the idea of them not being quite the same on either side; her front one has three apples, and the back one had two apples and a heart with a leaf that matches her hoof mark. But now I'm looking at it, and I'm not sure if I like it so much. I might take the little heart off and replace it with a third apple after all. I've also got an urge to give her freckles... but I've refrained thusfar because I'm not sure if it'll look good or not. Hmm. MLP Custom: Zero Kiryu [10 Jul 2007|01:34am] [ mood | accomplished ] Another commission, Zero from the manga Vampire Knight. This one was done all from pictures I printed off because I'm not familiar with the series; I'm pretty happy with him (especially from the front <3) but we'll see how his new owner likes him. Anyone on my f-list know Vampire Knight? How did I do? He's supposed to come with a gun (Bloody Rose), but it turns out I SUCK at sculpting guns. I've tried four times and had to scrap it every time. I'm going to send Zero and keep trying, and if I can get a decent looking gun for him I'll mail it to Kris later. lol. Haha, his owner is the same person who bought Ayame, Momiji, Kisa and Hiro at the con! ♥ ( Zero Kiryu ) His tatoo was a pain in the ass because it's half-covered by his collar, but I got it done. And contrary to the photos, his hair isn't actually white, it's kind of an off-white very pale silver. His armband is white ribbon that I painted the design on with a toothpick. The chain on his front is because he has a pocketwatch, but it's tucked into his pocket so you can only really see the chain. =3 Now 3 Riku ponies! =D EDIT: BAH. MLP Custom: Gil Grissom [02 Jul 2007|02:07am] [ mood | bouncy ] HAHA, I finally finished him! ^____^ Way the hell back like a year and a half ago, I got permission from Tres to do CSI ponies based off this fanart that she did. About five months later I finally started Grissom, and it's taken me a freaking year to get him finished. XD;; *fails a lot* But now he's done and I <3 him! =3 ( Gil Grissom pony-fied (I know, it's wrong isn't it?) ) From back when he had a beard, clearly. =D Hmm. I don't know if his hair photographed very well, but good enough! At least you can see the texture that took I swear three hours to do. ^_^; His hair was actually a chore, though the rest of him was easy. Clay and texturing aside, it's painted really dark brown, and then drybrushed in red-brown and silver-grey layers as well. And then, when I finally got working on him a couple of days ago, I couldn't find his freaking tail, so I had to do it over. -.-;; Still, yey~~ ♥ His eyes are done differently than I've been doing eyes lately... but then the last six months I've been doing all anime ponies, and anime-eyes wouldn't suit Grissom. So he gets spangly eyes like this instead, which I think turned out good. ^^ Next is Catherine. I'll get her done in a couple years or so. MLP Custom: Moogle~ XD; [01 Jul 2007|02:00am] [ mood | amused ] She's made from a McD's Serendipity. The hardest part was painting her white because it took so many coats. The rest was easy; I rehaired her with Platinum White Katsilk, made her wings from Super Sculpy, and did the little painting details like her nose, inside her ears, and her eyes. Her antenna is really thin craft wire (silver since I didn't have any black) and a little red pompom. (I bought a bag of like 150 pompoms in various sizes because I needed one for her, now I have tons left over. XD;) For some reason, she turned out to be hard to photograph. I think the camera flash bounces off the white paint and makes the image a bit weird. I'm gonna try to get some better photos of her tomorrow with natural light instead... pray to be unbroken

MLP Custom: Axel 2 [24 Jun 2007|01:56am] [ mood | accomplished ] ( Axel, commissioned at AN ) He's a little different than the original Axel, but just in little ways; I didn't paint him metallic black because I found that the metallic shows fingerprints and attracts dust more. He also has eyebrows, and now I think I'm going to paint them on my Axel!pony too. XD; His hair is also made from super sculpey instead of regular sculpey, to try to give it some more strength, and the spikes are a teeny bit thicker. The red is the same paint, but looks a shade different than the original Axel because the super sculpey is flesh coloured instead of white. *shrug* ( The two together for comparison, haha~ ) pray to be unbroken

Bored And With Access To Sculpey [31 May 2007|04:16am] [ mood | amused ] Couldn't sleep. >.> ( BWAHAHA~~ ) More pics later, when I finish a few more details with painting and either get some stronger wire or a stand to hold his tail up. There's wire inside it (not the stuff in the roll in the pic, much stronger stuff), but it turned out to not be strong enough compared to the amount of clay/length of tail. Or whatever. I <3 him. MLP Customs: Sora, Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Axel & Namine~ [20 May 2007|05:15am] [ mood | accomplished ZOMG ] I still win, but this time with worthwhile photos for everyone since I'm done everything except Sora's necklace now. ^^; So! Sora took the most time of all of them. You can tell if you look at the character, without even looking at the pony. And you can tell if you look at the pony, without looking at the character. There's a lot of freaking work there. I procrastinated over him for like two months. -.-; But I'm so happy with how he came out! =3 I WIN DISNEY/SQUARE-ENIX! HAH! ( Sora pics~ ) Riku wasn't so bad, really, though his hair turned out to be the hardest to do... and to be honest I'm still not super happy with how it came out. But it's alright, and I'm out of time and I'm done with KH for now dammit! lol. ( Riku pics~ ) Kairi was a bit of a challenge simply because I couldn't find any decent pics of her. XD; Luckily people came through for me and I could stop flailing over that, among other things. Considering I was just mixing paints trying for "reddish-brown but more red than brown" I got pretty close to the color of her hair. O.o; Ahhh... and the blue wrap on her right front foot. I know, it shouldn't be there, but that foot looks like it's been chewed by a cat. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY. [/sarcasm] Bad Loki! BAD! So I had to do something to cover it up. It was either that, or redo the whole pony... If I get commissions for Kairi ponies the blue thing won't be on them, I swear. ^_^;; ( Kairi pics~ ) Roxas~ <3 I adore how Roxas came out, and he wasn't nearly as hard as I thought he'd be. ^^ Even his hair turned out to be relatively easy... except he was top-heavy while I was doing it, and he kept falling over and squishing his spikes, so I kept having to redo them. Still. Love for Roxy~ ♥ ♥ ♥ On a completely unrelated note, he was made from one of the Friendship Ball Sparkleworks that was made from a mold that had two legs longer than the others. =__=; (Like Aoi back in the fall.) So I had to put lifts on his left side so he'd stand straight. Blegh. Roxas is my Mom's favorite, too. <3 ( Roxas pics~ ) Axel was pretty easy actually. Just black and flesh tone, and his eyes. Then a coat of metallic black. Even his hair was easy, and I thought it'd be hard to do. ^_^; Though I'm a little worried about transporting him to the con because his spikes are really thin and delicate, despite how AWESOME they look. >>;; ( Axel pics~ ) Namine~ Haha, I love Namine because she was so easy! Easy to pick a pose for! Easy to paint! Easy to sculpt her hair! No crazy details or accessories! She balances out the set, with all the nutty details and complex designs. ^^~ ( Namine pics~ ) ...seriously. I don't want to sell them. I look at Sora and I'm like ;~; "Nuuuuu!" Maybe I'll just use them as display pieces at the con or something? I don't know... I need the money and I don't really have the room here anyway... but look at them! And I know I'll never make a set like that for myself again. I would for other people, but I wouldn't go through the bother for myself. Le sigh... MLP Customs: Mokona/Madoki [24 Apr 2007|08:18pm] [ mood | accomplished/sick ] I had a whole bunch more photos to post... but I'm not up to it, so you just get Mokona and Madoki for now because I think they turned out really damn cute. ( Three pics~ ) I made them out of G3 McD's ponies because I wanted them to be teeny to fit with the size of the rest of the Tsubasa ones I'm doing; I'm also doing another Mokona to go with Hikaru, Umi and Fuu of my Rayearth ponies. I guess technically, they should be about half again as small as they are, but these are the smallest ones I have, lol. Cute, ne? Hm. They each need an earring still, but I haven't entirely figured out how I'm going to do that yet. Still. I <3 them. Haha they're like rabbit-pony hybrids. XD;; Would that be as funny if I didn't have a fever? Now I'm going back to bed again... -___-;; EDIT: Yeah, the jewel on the black one should be purple-er, but I couldn't find anything more purple than that. MLP Customs: Uotani, Shigure & Akito~ [27 Mar 2007|11:22pm] [ mood | accomplished ] Look at me finally remembering to post photos of the last of my Furuba ponies! ^_^; Yeah, I completely forgot for like two weeks, didn't I? Anyway~ Uotani Arisa ("Uo-chan") was made from a G3 Shelle-Belle. This is one of the stupidest of the G3 poses in my oppinion but whatever. She was painted cobalt blue, and rehaired with Ash Blonde katsilk from restoredoll.com. Her symbol is a little smiley yellow fish. <3 In retrospect, I should have done her in red and decorated her in the kanji on the coat that Tohru's mother gave her. Ah well! Maybe I'll do another one, I have lots of extra ash blonde hair... ( Uo-chan ) Shigure was made from a G3 Starbeam and was a pain in the ass, seriously! Stupid glitter! ><;; But I got most of it off, and yey Shigure! He was painted dark grey, and rehaired with black katsilk. His symbol is a 3-D black doggy, and he has the kanji for the Year of the Dog on his hoof yes shut up I know my kanji skillz fail, it's good enough! XD;; ( Shigure ) Akito was made from a G3 Green Apple, painted black, rehaired in black hatsilk, given black eyes and evil black eyebrows, and has a bird/branch/sakura petals as his symbol. He also has a handmade zodiac symbol necklace that I did out of sculpey. <3 ( Akito ) I'm so proud of my Furuba set! It's 17 ponies! And none of them are the same pose! =O Actually, I was somewhat shocked that there was even that many poses to choose from, but I didn't even use all of them. >>;; ( Three random group photos. ) Also, I just had someone comment at my devART and tell me that my twins ponies have inspired them to try customizing ponies as well. MLP Customs: Isuzu/Rin, Yuki, Kyou, Hatori, Kisa, Hiro, Ritsu & Kureno! [08 Mar 2007|09:55pm] [ mood | accomplished ] Photos of a bunch more of my Furuba ponies, as promised. Only three to go; I was planning to finish Shigure and Akito tonight, but honestly... I'm not feeling the greatest, since I didn't get any sleep last night. =.= So I think I'm going to put it off by a day and finish them up tomorrow night. I need my bed. Anyway! In no particular order! Isuzu/Rin was made from a pony with a 3D symbol so I had to cut it off before I could do anything. And in the photos, for some reason, she looks like she has reddish patches, when in real life she's just the dark purple color. Her hair is CM Midnight katsilk from restoredoll.com. Her necklace is black ribbon, based on one that she wears in the manga, and the same with the black wrist cuff. <3 I love Rin, but she doesn't look nearly cynical enough with that smile on her face, lol. ( Sohma Isuzu ) Yuki was made from a G3 Seaspray (one of the few I remember the name of XD;), painted light grey (a color I had to mix especially for him and my WIP Grissom pony), and rehaired with Hi Ho Silver katsilk; his eyes are silver as well, as is his symbol. He has a little shirt embelleshment on his chest. ( Sohma Yuki ) Kyou was made from a... Pineapple Paradise? Something like that. He was painted beige and rehaired with Orange Blossom katsilk; his eyes and symbol were painted an orange to match. His bracelet is hand made, the red beads hand-painted; red instead of black because in the manga they were red (colored by human blood). He only has a red ribbon around his neck because I had trouble when I was prepping the bait pony, and his neckline wasn't even. I'm not 100% happy with his symbol, so I might end up re-doing it later... ( Sohma Kyon-Kyon~ ) Hatori was made from one of the 2006 G3s-- the pink sparkly one? He's been painted dark blue, and rehaired with CM Midnight katsilk; his eyes are light grey, and the left one has no pupil or definition. I realise that Hatori has no signs that he's blind, but in the pony I wanted it to be obvious. His hair hangs down over that eye. The seahorse was a pain. The tail broke off twice while I was trying to paint it. Luckily I was able to fix it and didn't have to re-do it all together. XD; ( Sohma Hatori ) Ritsu was made from a G3 that I don't know the name of. Whatever. He was painted yellow, and detailed with orange flowers, taken from his kimono on the front of his volume of the manga. The kimono-inspired bow was made by hand and was a PAIN IN THE ASS, and I'm really happy with it. He was rehaired with Stacy Titan katsilk. Rit-chan is one of my favorite of my Furuba ponies. <3 ( Sohma Ritsu ) Kisa was made from a G3 baby. Look how cute she is~~ X3 She was painted pink, and rehaired with the same Stacy Titan katsilk as Ritsu was. I originally made a little flower necklace for her, but the beads were too big for her and I didn't like how it looked so I ended up taking it off again. ( Sohma Kisa ) Hiro was also made from a G3 baby, to match Kisa. They're adorable. ^^ He's been painted kind of an olive-green-brown and rehaired with a brown katsilk that I can't remember the exact name of. XD; I'm still considering giving him a little floppy bowtie like from his school uniform, but I haven't decided yet... ( Sohma Hiro ) ( Random pic of Kisa and Hiro together. <3 ) Kureno was made from a G3 Cloud Climber; he didn't need to be repainted, and was just rehaired with Mahogany katsilk. His eyes were repainted, though. Kureno was easy. ^_^; And I chose to do him from a peg... mostly because I found it fitting, since in the manga Kureno can no longer fly-- both in reality, and metaphorically. I gave him back his wings. :) ( Sohma Kureno ) Ahhhh~ there we go! So many photos! XD;; What do you think? MLP Customs: Hanajima & Hatsuharu [14 Feb 2007|02:26am] [ mood | YAY ] Two more Fruits Basket ponies finished! 6 down, 10 to go! XD; 1) Hanajima was made from a G3 Pepperberry. Originally, I planned to make her into Rin, but I changed my mind at the last minute and she begame Hana. ♥ She was painted black (her eyes as well), and given a 3-D symbol of a dark purple flower as her symbol (made from Sculpey clay). She was then rehaired with CM Midnight katsilk from restoredoll.com; the mane was braided, of course, and her tail was boil-permed into crimps. She has a purple-and-white heart on her hoof, and a black ribbon around her neck. I think she turned out pretty. :) ( Hanajima~ ) 2) Hatsuharu! OMG Haru!pony turned out so rediculously well... I really want to keep him and make another one to sell. >>;; Anyway! Haru was made from a G3 Fairy Dust; he was left white, but his eyes were repainted brown. His symbol is a 3-D version of his cow/ox form, which I think turned out rather cute. ^^ He was rehaired with Platinum White katsilk, and the roots were painted black, lol. I tried dying it, and failed miserably, so I had to start from scratch and use paint. Then all of his accessories! Haru sports 6 earrings; a hoop and two studs in his left ear, and two hoops and one stud in his right. He has a vine tatoo painted around the top of his left leg. He wears a collar choker (that I still need to do the buckle for, I'm just realising >>;), and a cross pendant. He also has two bracelets on his right ankle, and two gems on the same foot to represent his rings, since I obviously couldn't give him actual ones. ^_^; And of course, he still needs the kanji for the Year of the Ox on his left foot. =3 ( Hatsuharu~ ) Haru was tedious and had a lot of little details, but it was worth it in the end. ^_^ EDIT: ( A pic of the 6 I've done so far~ ) 11 hearts | pray to be unbroken
